New to O2
Switching to O2 is easy and you can keep your existing number
Switching to iPhone is easy and we have a wide range of tariff options for iPhone available to suit all your needs. If you've already finished or nearing the end of your minimum term contract with another network provider, now is the right time to get the new 3G iPhone.
To purchase an iPhone with a Pay Monthly tariff you need to be over 18, pass a credit check and have a bank account for the monthly Direct Debit payments. You'll also need an email address you access regularly because your bills will be sent to you by email.
Keep your number
You can easily transfer your existing number to your new iPhone. Just contact your current network provider for a PAC code. Then let us know your PAC code when you purchase your iPhone in-store, or contact us online once you've received your new handset.
Your existing number will be transferred within two working days of us receiving the PAC code. We'll also give you a temporary number whilst you wait for your existing number to transfer so you can continue to make calls, send texts and surf the internet.
Pay as you go
iPhone is coming soon for Pay & Go
Pay & Go customers will soon be able to enjoy all the great features of the iPhone without a monthly contract.
More information will be available soon.
Activation
Once you've got your new iPhone 3G, you'll need to connect to the latest version of iTunes to activate it.
Before activating
1. Check your voicemail
Before you activate your iPhone 3G, make sure you listen to your current voicemails. If you're an existing O2 customer, activation will delete your existing voicemails. If you're transferring an existing number from another network operator, existing voicemails will not be transferred.
2. Transfer your contacts, music and photos
Before you activate, migrate your existing mobile contacts into Outlook, Outlook Express on the PC, or Address Book or Entourage on the Mac.
To activate your iPhone 3G
Insert the SIM card into your iPhone 3G. (Upgrading Pay Monthly and
existing iPhone customers should use your existing SIM card.) By inserting
a CPW O2 SIM you will occur data charges when accessing the internet.
Tariffs apply to iPhone SIMs.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Connect iPhone to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC (not on the keyboard) using the included cable. iTunes opens automatically.
Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to activate iPhone 3G and sync your contacts, calendars, music, photos, podcasts, videos, email accounts, and web bookmarks.
If you're new to O2 and transferring your existing number, contact us with you PAC code if you've not done so already.
Important information for O2 customers billed by The Carphone Warehouse who are upgrading to the iPhone
If your current O2 tariff does not include a data allowance package (or bundle), you may be charged for using data on your iPhone in the first couple of days.
When you insert your current SIM into your new iPhone, you remain on your current O2 tariff for about 48 hours until your new iPhone tariff takes effect.
Therefore, you might want to wait about 48 hours before using the internet, email and any other data applications that you might be charged for.
If you want to make sure that you are on your new iPhone tariff and you are safe to use data on your iPhone without being charged extra, contact O2 Customer Services.

Introducing iPhone 3G.
With fast 3G wireless technology, Maps with GPS, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more amazing features in your hands.
And just like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and full web browsing.
iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again.
|
|

iPhone is a revolutionary mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply tapping a name or number in your address book, a favourites list or call list.
It also automatically syncs all your contacts from a PC, Mac or Internet service. And with Visual Voicemail, you select and listen to messages in whatever order you want - just like email.
|
|

iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that shows off your content—including music, videos, podcasts and audiobooks — on a beautiful 3.5-inch display. Sync content from the iTunes library on your Mac or PC. Scroll through songs and playlists with the touch of a finger. Even browse your album artwork using Cover Flow.
|
|

iPhone uses fast 3G and Wi-Fi wireless connections to deliver rich HTML email, Maps with GPS, and Safari—the most advanced web browser on a portable device. iPhone automatically syncs bookmarks from your PC or Mac and has Google and Yahoo! search built in. Since iPhone multitasks, you can even make a phone call while emailing a photo or surfing the web over a Wi-Fi or 3G connection.
